Thomas C. Schoneck, age 79 of Shawano, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 29, 2016 at Atrium Post Care at Evergreen in Shawano.
Tom was born July 18, 1937 in Clintonville, Wisconsin, a son of the late Edward C. and Rickie (Kubitz) Schoneck. He attended country schools near Merrill and later Clintonville High School. Tom graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee. Following high school he entered the United States Navy where he served from 1956 to 1960. He served aboard the USS DE Haven in the Pacific Fleet. Upon returning from the service he was employed as a factory worker at Packaging Corporation of America in Milwaukee. He retired after 40 years with the company. Following his retirement, Tom moved to Shawano in 2006.
Survivors include his sister, Audrey (Robert) Greub of Shawano; his brother, Gerald Schoneck of Anchorage, Alaska; his nieces, Barbara (Bill) Bunker of Shawano, and Nancy (David) Brandt of Lakeland, Florida; his nephew, Ricky Greub of Dollar Bay, Michigan; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Armin “Bud” Schoneck; one sister, Betty Schoneck; and his sister-in-law, Janet Schoneck.
A memorial service for Thomas C. Schoneck will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Mickelson Funeral & Cremation Service of Shawano. Pastor Ted Andrada will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home 12:00 PM until the hour of service.
